Paddlesworth is the world’s first ever pop up village. If that doesn’t sound weird enough, it’s not even a real village. Well not exactly anyway. Paddlesworth is an internet creation and in this small Kentish village outside Snodland there are only 10 weeks until the end of the world.
Cineroleum
One of the most exhilarating elements of Pop Up events, is their ability to take a conventional activity and transform it, by placing it in a unique environment. This is typified by the recent Pop Up Cinema, Cineroleum, that has been entertaining film lovers in an abandoned petrol station in Clerkenwell. Frank’s Cafe and Campari Bar
Frank’s Cafe and Campari Bar is a not so secret, temporary bar/restaurant, on top of a multi-storey car park in the heart of Peckham. Sneaking you way around the back of cinema and up into the roof of the car park via a combination of lifts, stairs and ramps you soon find yourself in a buzzing eatery with amazing panoramic views of the city. Part wooden shack, part architectural innovation Frank’s manages to create a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere complimented by the food and drink. We treated ourselves to steak charged on weight, heritage tomatoes, grilled mackerel and buttered brown shrimp. The food roles out in no time, ensuring you never left wanting.
